Metcalfe's Skinny Topcorn

Anything with the word skinny usually means (in my option) that it's full of nastys and gimmicky but not Metcalfe's Skinny Topcorn ooooh noooo.  Popcorn has to be one of my favourite snacks and when I go to the cinema I can't help but order myself some.  A large popcorn from the cinema is around 1500 calories and I know large is for sharing but I know myself I could happily eat the whole thing *hangs head in shame*.

Las Iguanas Glasgow

Las Iguanas Comes to Glasgow!!

I (Paula) was invited to Las Iguanas a few days before it opened for a cocktail making class, loving anything with cocktail in the title I was excited to go along and see what they had to offer and also have a sneek peek of the place before it opens. I brought along a friend and we had a lovely afternoon that turned into a roll home at 3am! So yes, it was a very very good day.  Darren and Greg (who took the class) were very good teachers and we were truly spoiled with lovely cocktails and also some food (which we weren't expecting) both were fantastic!  At the class I was joined by Gerry from Gerry Kitchen and his lovely partner Nicola and Michelle from Ananyah and her partner Ross.

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

I was really craving something sweet and instead of reaching for the sugary fatty snack I decided to play about with some healthier options and came up with these little peanut butter cookies.  These satisfied both my own and hubbys sweet tooth.

Takeaway Ban!

I (Tracey) am currently on a spending ban over on my beauty blog and then it came to me, what is the equivalent of a spending ban on a food blog and I've decided to have a 1 month take away ban!

If I'm totally honest I'm not the biggest take away fan, yeh I eat them every weekend but only because it's easy and either my mum and dad or my boyfriend suggest it so I just go along with it. I rarely eat a take away and think ooooh that was amazing! So I decided why am I eating them so much? Why am I wasting so much money on them when I barely even enjoy them. So I thought I will do a takeaway ban, put it on here and I may even inspire someone else to think about how much money you spend on takeaways and do you even really enjoy them that much? Paula is going to participate also and we've even got the men involved haha. We are also going to do a weekly "fakeaway". Each week will have a different theme. So this weekend's theme will be Italian!

For the most part for us all it is just pure convenience so I invite you to join us on our takeaway ban and maybe even try out some of our "fakeaway" ideas!

McPhabbs

Many moons ago my work was situated in Charing Cross and I fell in love with the area and when we moved away I actually was a little gutted.  Since moving I hardly venture there anymore so when we were invited to a new menu tasting in the area I was excited to get along and see the place again (Paula).

Situated on Sandyford Place this is parallel to Sauchiehall street so really only a stones through away from the motorway.  From the outside its a bright friendly looking place, good start so far I say.  We were invited to try the new look food at McPhabbs following a change in management and also to celebrate that they are having 50% sale on all food until 28th February!
